WHY CHOOSE ABC EMERGENCY FIRST AID TRAINING
Paul Lane
After a thirteen year career in the Ambulance service I wanted to use my experience and knowledge to help First Aiders become confident in dealing with incidents at work. I believe that courses should not only be interesting to those attending but also that people learn faster and easier if the course is fun.
Through feedback we have found this to be true and businesses also benefit because they have people wanting to be actively involved in Health and Safety.
Richard Pullen (Pip)
Pips passion for first aid started when he became a first aid supervisor for a busy leisure centre, followed by a brief spell in the Ambulance Service.
In 1997 Pip made a full time move to the Fire & Rescue Service where he became a front-line Instructor in 2003 teaching first aid and trauma, defibrillator training and technical fire extinguishing.
From voluntary work with the youth service to one-to-one tuition, Pip's aim is to give trainees the confidence to help others in an emergency situation.
For organisations the courses are tailored to suit business environments. ABC Emergency Aid Training provide one-day courses that cover Resuscitation, Unconscious Casualty, Difficulty Breathing, Choking, Burns, Major Blood Loss, Broken Bones and Shock. This is unusual in the appointed person sector as most one-day courses by other well-known and established training organisations only cover resuscitation and legal aspects. You would normally have to attend a four-day course to cover the same criteria we cover in one-day. As well as the training, we supply a course book, which the attendees can take away with them.
ABC Emergency Aid Training courses fulfil all the legal requirements in a professional, cost effective manner and we can provide on-site training or offer outside venues, whichever causes the least disruption to your business. All courses meet the requirements laid down in the Health and Safety Executive Works Act and meet the UK Resuscitation Council guidelines.
Our trainers ensure that attendees are put at ease and enjoy the day, but still inject the importance of the subject matter at hand. All demonstrations are shown slowly and clearly and we ensure the attendees understand before proceeding with practicing; the trainer assisting where necessary.
